The standard we build to

We build to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the accessibility standard most public websites are measured against.

Nobody outside the company has audited this site, so we are not claiming it fully meets that standard. What follows is what we aim for and what we have actually done.

What is in place today

• A skip link, so you can jump past the menu straight to the page
• Keyboard operation throughout, including the menus, the forms, and the county map
• A visible outline around whatever you have focused, on every background
• Touch targets of at least 44 pixels on phones
• A label on every form field
• Animation switched off when your device asks for reduced motion, apart from one slow background wash on the home page
• County names as real text beside the map, so no coverage information is carried by color alone
• The page language marked on every page, English and Spanish, so a screen reader pronounces it correctly
• Every page a visitor can reach available in both English and Spanish

Where we know we fall short

The three moving rows pause when you hover or focus inside them, and they do not move at all if your device asks for reduced motion. What is missing is a button to stop them whenever you want. Nothing is lost either way, because every review, credential, and logo is ordinary page text or a real image whether the animation is running or not.

Both of these are written down and waiting on a decision about how to fix them. Neither is fixed today.
