How do I know if my ducts need replacement instead of repair?
Age and material decide it, and pre-2000s flex duct with failing joints is past patching. Sealing a few leaks in a deteriorated network buys a year, not a decade. If rooms cool unevenly, dust returns fast, and the system runs nonstop, the inspection usually confirms it.
Will new ducts lower my electric bill?
If your current ducts leak, and most older South Florida systems do, yes, noticeably. You stop paying to cool the attic, and the A/C stops running extra cycles to compensate.
Can you replace ducts without replacing the A/C?
Ducts and equipment are independent scopes, and ducts often fail first. We size the new network to your existing equipment. If a changeout is coming soon, we design the ducts to suit the next system too.
How long does duct replacement take?
Most single-family homes take 1-2 working days. The home stays livable; the A/C is down only during the changeover hours.
Does new ductwork help with allergies and dust?
Usually a lot, because leaky returns pull attic air (dust, insulation fibers, humidity) straight into circulation. A sealed system moves only the air that passes the filter. We can also add upgraded filtration while the plenum is open.
Is duct cleaning a cheaper alternative?
Cleaning removes what's in the duct; it does nothing for leaks, crushed runs, bad sizing, or failed insulation. For an aging, leaking system, cleaning is money spent making the wrong ducts cleaner. We'll tell you honestly which situation yours is.
