How do I know if my fascia is rotted?
The signs are peeling paint, dark streaks below the gutter line, and gutters pulling away from the home. Wood that gives under thumb pressure is another sign. If you can see damage from the ground, expect the board behind to be worse.
Can you just repair a section instead of replacing everything?
Yes. If the rest of the run is sound, we repair only the damaged sections and match the existing profile. We'll tell you honestly when a roofline is past patching and repair money would be wasted.
Does soffit ventilation really matter in Florida?
A lot: soffit vents are the intake of the attic's airflow. Blocked or unvented soffit traps heat and moisture, which raises cooling bills and ages the roof deck from below. We size the vented panel area to the attic, and it pairs directly with our attic insulation service.
What materials do you install?
Vented and solid aluminum and vinyl panels with wrapped aluminum fascia are the Florida standard. They don't rot and don't need repainting. Wood-grain finishes are available where the architecture calls for it.
Should soffit and fascia be done with a re-roof or new gutters?
Ideally yes: gutters anchor into fascia, and a re-roof exposes the eave edge. Doing the wood repair while everything is already open, with crews mobilized once, is the cheapest sequencing. We quote it as a combined scope when it makes sense.
Do soffit and fascia need a permit?
Plain repair generally doesn't; larger replacements can, depending on the county. As the licensed contractor of record we pull whatever your county requires; it's included in the quote either way.
